Liminal State III

I travel to the Arctic and Antarctic regions absorbing elements from icy landscapes. Then I have used a cold wax medium with the oil paint which allows me to build up textures and scratch into it to reveal the layers beneath. 

 I have named this painting ‘Liminal State III’ as Icebergs are the stage between being part of a glacier and part of the ocean, going from fresh water to mingle with saltwater. Being aware that this process has accelerated, has highlighted for me that we are all in a very precarious liminal state!

 The painting has a white wooden frame which is fitted with D-rings and cord ready to hang.
